Kylin Buffet, in Ocean Road, directly opposite the museum, is the only sit-down Chinese restaurant in South Shields. Set over two floors, with a contemporary interior design, the restaurant has a total of 200 seats and serves more than 100 varieties of food during the Grand Buffet. As well as Chinese, it offers seafood, Thai, Japanese and Indian dishes. The business can cater for private parties of 20 people at one of its round tables, as well as up to 65 people in a semi-private function area.
