Welcome

Delta One Canines provide training for Security Dog Handlers, Security Officers and Door Supervisors endorsed by both H.A.B.C. and National Association of Security Dog Users.

Based in Coventry, Delta One Canines provides security training to the public and private sector nationwide. Established in 1999, the organisation has brought together highly experienced trainers in their respective fields and can offer many years of experience in the Security Training Sector.

With an in depth knowledge of the Security Industry and experienced instructors, the service is designed to not just enable candidates to pass the exams, but to prepare them for actual work in the Security Industry.

Instructors

Delta One Canines principal instructor, Bob Haynes, retired after completing thirty years service with the Police Force. Much of this time was spent as a dog handler and instructor. He has trained innumerable police, security, specialist search and companion dogs and handlers.

He has successfully competed in Service Trials, Working Trials and Obedience Competitions at Championship level. Additionally he has succesfully exhibited in the show ring. He is a consultant for Dogs Trust.

Security Dog Handler Training

Delta One Canines firmly believe that the security trained dog has an integral part to play in the private security field. He is at the forefront in the protection of persons and property. He is a highly effective visible deterrent to potential wrongdoers with the physical capability of protecting his handler. He can assist in the detection and apprehension of perpetrators of crime.

However, the security dog is both unable and unlikely to be able to carry out these duties to the best of his ability if he is not partnered with a competent and efficient handler who has been properly trained to carry out that role.

Delta One Canines strongly recommend that any person who is required to handle a dog within a security environment should be professionally trained and certificated by a recognised professional body.

Personal Protection Dog Training

Delta One Canines firmly believe that the correctly trained Personal Protection Dog has an integral part to play in the protection of his owner, their family and possessions.

He is a highly visible deterrent to potential wrongdoers with the physical capability of dealing with a direct threat.
He can assist in the detection and apprehension of would-be assailants.
The Personal Protection Dog can be trained to a variety of levels, dependant on the perceived threat level to the owners. This would be established after a risk assessment is carried out on the individual owner's circumstances.

Training would only be undertaken after an in depth discussion to clearly set out the owners legal and moral responsibilities.

Owners would be trained along with their own dog to ensure the highest degree of control and operational use.
