Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry
Here at Features we use the latest in dental technology to provide you with a beautiful, healthy smile.
Our practice has been established for over 100 years. Our leading dentist Ken Place has been qualified for over 35 years and is particulary interested in the cosmetic side of dentistry and has performed many smile makeovers.
For implants and surgical procedures we work with Mr. Keith Jones who is a consultant maxillofacial surgeon.
Also, we offer the latest in non-surgical facial enhancements such as muscle relaxants, dermal fillers and lip enhancement.
We are very proud of our friendly, professional service. Please take your time to look over our website at all the treatments we have to offer. All the dental pictures on our website are our patients.
Step 1 - The first step is to have a consultation with Ken Place and Mr. Keith Jones. X-rays are taken to assess whether there is enough bone to place the implant(s). Also, this gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the procdure. We can put you in touch with patients who have had the same treatment.
Step2 - Next you have the implants inserted. This is usually done under local anaesthetic and performed by Mr. Keith Jones. After the procedure a temporary bridge or denture is fitted.
Step 3 - The implants need to integrate with the jaw bone. This takes approximately 6 months in the upper jaw and approximately 3 months in the lower jaw. During this period your implants will be monitored by Mr. Keith Jones.
Step 4 - The final stage is to have the ceramic work completed. This will involve several visits to us at Place Dental Care to ensure that the fit, shape and colour are exactly right for you.
You can now enjoy your new teeth and feel confident when talking, eating and of course smiling!
Kate was not happy with her smile! She decided to have a smile makeover. After whitening her teeth she had 20 porcelain veneers. She now has a beautiful natural smile. Ken Place completed the treatment in July 2006.
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain that fits over your natural tooth. They can be used to straighten crooked teeth, cover dis-coloured teeth or widen teeth to close gaps. Veneers are less destructive on teeth than crowns, but do need adequate enamel to bond to.
The natural teeth are prepared and then impressions are taken and sent to our dental laboratory. The shade and shape of the veneers are decided by you and Ken. When you are completely happy with them they are bonded on to your natural teeth.

Our senior practitioner is Ken Place. He has practised here since 1972 and has developed a successful private dental practice providing an expanding range of services. As a consequence of performing complex dental treatments and smile makeovers he noted the improvement in his patient’s lives which had a synergy with facial aesthetics and counselling. These treatments evolved as a progression from general dentistry to cosmetic dentistry to encompass the whole face and forwards to the inner self.
The treatment you receive at Features combines the improvement of the outer self with the inner self. If you look good on the outside then you will feel good on the inside and if not then we can still help
