Cheap bed
We ordered a Toledo oak bed on the last day of the clearance sale from Oak Furniture FDF. We noticed that a new clearance sale started immediately after the end so I did start to wonder if we'd actually got a bargain. We asked for the delivery drivers to phone to give us an estimated delivery time but it just arrived with absolutely no warning. Fortunately my wife was in to take delivery, however, the delivery drivers would only deliver to the front door. There wasn't room in our hall for the 3 packages weighing a total of 90kg so they suggested my wife (who is pregnant) carry them upstairs on her own! In the end they left them in the kitchen but being large packages they did block the room until I could get home to move them. I then found the bed was damaged with a large crack along the headboard. I reported this to FDF with pictures and they agreed to replace it with a new bed. We did receive a new bed in a reasonably quick space of time, however, again we asked for the delivery drivers to call us and they just turned up unannounced. The damaged bed has been collected separately and was due to be picked up today but my wife has waited in all day and they haven't turned up. We did call to ask for an expected time but they said they couldn't give a time and that the delivery drivers wouldn't be able to call if we did go out because they're not allowed to phone whilst driving and they probably won't have signal at our house (in a town)! In terms of the bed itself, the quality is not great. The damage to the headboard may have been caused in transit but it may also have been due to a poor piece of wood. The slats also look very cheap and may not last very long. The bed is also very tricky to put together, the slat holes needed drilling and it took 2 of us several hours to put together. The support beam legs also had not been properly drilled so they were at an angle and I needed to saw the dowel to straighten these up. On the whole I would say the value is not good, the bed was reasonably cheap but it is not good quality and I don't expect it to last long. We have had a lot of hassle and now wished we'd spent a bit more money somewhere else to get something better quality. Having said that the customer service was good to replace the damaged bed and they have been responsive to emails but the delivery service has been very very bad.

Best in the west
We saw FDF at Prestige Furniture in Heathfield and fell in love with the Genoa range. We've just taken delivery of several chests of drawers and wardrobe, it is perfect, so striking and obviously really well made. Love the service its superb

Superb
We bought a Toledo bed, bedside tables and a wardrobe from FDF and it is superb. Great value without compomise on quality. The customer service was also excellent and it was delivered really fast
