Very happy with my purchase , we had a faulty chimney and an old ugly fireplace. Our chimney has been lined and is in working order with a toasty new gas fire. service from start to finish was excellent.

We shopped everywhere for a woodburning stove and ended up at the fireplace in birkdale . we found them to have a lot of choice and from start to finish was only 3 weeks. price was right and the fitters were excellent , very clean and a pleasure to have in our home . many thanks . T M

A long drawn out saga that has still to be resolved. The manager isn't qualified to do the initial survey, the fitters have to follow poor instructions. They don't turn up. (yes one of those firms) Our wall cracked, we had to have a replacement stove, (we never got our price differential refund) the wall was tiled (a decision that should have been made at the start) but now the tiles are falling off the wall. Our flooring was damaged. Fiasco. I am now looking for an alternative firm to put it right. This is not a cheap procedure either. Beware.

A farce from start to finish. Our fitting was cancelled at the last minute because the fitter turned into work drunk, then when the fire finally got fitted it ended up off centre on our chimney breast and had to be removed. We were told that the fitters were coming to refit it, but after waiting in all day they arrived and told us they couldn't do it that day after all, so left again. The surround got broken in the process of the refit and had to be reordered, so the whole thing took about 6 weeks. We never received a phone call to arrange fittings or to update us on progress, my husband had to keep calling over and over again, he would leave two or three messages and never get a call back. The secretary is abrupt and disinterested and does not seem to pass on messages, and when I spoke to the manager to complain about the fact we had to chase for information he just shouted at me for daring to complain, despite the fact that we had been so patient throughout. Very unprofessional.
