We are only 12 miles from Oban the gateway to the Western Isles where white sand beaches meet aqua blue waters when the weather is right, one could say the Med or South Pacific of the North Atlantic, anyway, stunning to say the least with and abundance of wild life, bird life and aquatic life second to none.

We celebrated our 2nd Anniversary with dinner at Brander Lodge last night. Great menu with a lot of choice for fussy people like us. The food was fantastic: excellent quality, cooked to perfection, generous portions, beautifully presented. We had the soup, then I had the Balmoral Chicken, and my partner had the Garlic Chicken. There is a broad and excellent range of sweets. We went for the New York Cheesecake and Raspberry Ripple Ice-cream, which were divine. The service from George and Emma was faultless. They were very attentive without being intrusive, warm and friendly but professional, very efficient and observant. Absolutely top notch customer service. The refurbished Brander is absolutely gorgeous. It's very comfortable too, and has a lovely atmosphere. We found out they'll even pick up and drop of locals who want to have a drink with their dinner! This is our favourite restaurant anywhere, and we eat out a lot, all over the Highlands and central Scotland. Can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you Brander Lodge for helping us have a such lovely Anniversary.
Stayed 4 nights to do some cycling in the area. David and his team could not have been more helpful and interested in me as a guest, even offering to come and collect me if I got stuck in the snow when cycling in the hills. Above and beyond service and all staff served with a smile.
