1. Academic leadership for speciality locally. In 2000 became Secretary and Treasurer, then Convenor of PIC Speciality Group of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health until 2004. Advised the College on matters regarding training, speciality recognition and provided counsel and direction to trainees and arranged academic meetings at the annual RCPCH conference.
2. Co-authored papers at the Royal College Of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) annual conference speciality groups, Computer and IT, Paediatric Intensive Care, Ethics and law, 2002-2005. Winner of best presentation, Computer and Information group, 2003, 2005.
3. As a clinical scientist I teach and supervise undergraduate and post graduate degree projects; 24 PhD and 2 MD research projects 2004 - 2003. I was principal investigator, Imperial College, first randomised multi-centre trial of Heliox in
bronchiolitis 2004 - 2007. As PI of a multi-centre trial I manage a team of 5 research nurses and a PhD fellow providing 24-hour cover for clinical trials across 3 hospital sites in London.
