Drama Schools in Wickford
STAGECOACH SCHOOLS offer your child the opportunity to act, sing and dance their way through life, with classes for 4-17 year olds. STAGECOACH welcomes children from all backgrounds, of all ages and ability. No one has to audition; enthusiasm and potential are as good as talent.
Stagecoach is the oldest established network of part time Performing Arts Schools in the country. They have over 600 schools in the UK and worldwide. The teachers are all fully qualified and DBS checked and the Principal is always on site to deal with students and answer queries from parents.
The children at our Wickford school enjoy a wide range of activities based on dance, drama and singing. They are frequently offered the opportunity to audition for productions in local Theatres. Most recently some of the students were featured in the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice musical The Likes Of Us at Queens Theatre, Hornchurch. The Principal, Tessa Davies, and her teachers are often asked to put children forward for local professional productions and the teachers will always assist the students in preparing for these auditions.
Our students follow a Performing Arts curriculum that ensures they develop their performing skills to a high level and enables the students to increase their confidence, not just in performing, but in everyday life. They are offered the opportunity to take individual drama exams (LAMDA) and group Musical Theatre exams (Performance Arts Awards). This provides a benchmark for the children's personal development and goals to aim for each term.
Our teachers are all qualified in their disciplines and, in most cases, have performed professionally in theatres and performance venues throughout the UK. Our dance teachers provide experience in a range of dance styles, in addition to ensuring that the student's basic dance skills are developed and improved. Our drama teachers ensure that the basic techniques (breathing, projection, speech clarity and tone) are followed and the children get the opportunity to do improvisation, creative acting and follow scripts in class. Our singing teacher will make sure that the children develop good breathing techniques and provide a wide range of songs (from musical theatre to pop and everything in between) for the children to sing.
The school is based at Beauchamps School.. There is ample parking in the School's car park and plenty of internal space for the children to use.
